Reservation of various Atithi gruhs is done at the booking office situated in Sayaji Garden on all days except Sundays second & fourth Saturdsys and public holidays The timing are : Monday to Friday 9.30 AM to 1.00 PM & Saturday 9.30 AM to 12.00 Noon Bokking is opened for a period from April to March every year and the booking commences form 1st April every year.

Rules/ terms & conditions of Atithigruh.


1. Charges of Gas, electricity etc will be deducted from the original deposit.

2. Band, musical instruments and fire creackers are prohibited.

3. There should be no quarrels. Belongings should not be misused.

4. N. O. C. is a must for extra electrical decoration,

5. An advanced permission for playing shehenai or Jaltarang is required to be obtained from the tourist officer.

6. Booking of Atithi gruh can be cancelled at least 10 days prior to the date of booking. An application should be made to the tourist officer. 30 % of the amount of charges will be refunded by cheque.

7. In case of loss of property or vessels, the amount will be deducted from the deposit as per market price.

8. Any act against the rules will not be tolerated and the deposit will be forfeited. The Atithi gruh will also have to be vacated.

9. Apart from these, the rules mentioned at the Atithi gruh would also have to be obeye.

Tourist department of the Municipal Corporation looks after all the three swimming pools of the Corporation VIZ. Sardarbaug, Lalbaug & Rajiv Gandhi Swimming pools. Swimming pool Rules /terms & conditions regarding swimming pool


1. An application is required to be made in a prescribed form available from the office. From fee Rs. 5/-

2. Membership :

(A) Member should be above 18 years of age.
(B) Letter of consent is required from the father or guardian in case where the applicant is below 18 years but above 10 years of age.
(C) Children below 10 years can be co member with their parents/ guardians at a prescribed fees and the responsibility will be that of the parents/guardians.
(D) Certificate from the principal/Dean is necessary for student enrolment.
(E) The following persons can introduce a member
1. Municipal Councillor
2. Municipal officer whose salary is not less than Rs. 2000/-
3. Principal of the School/Dean of the college.
4. Gazetted officer/Signature of the H. O. D.
(F) Life membership
Life membership is restricted to the swimmers. Learners can be a life member but he will have to pay additional fees of a learner till he becomes a swimmer.

3. Fees :

(A) Anybody above 10 years of age can become a life member. Entry fees Rs. 50/- letter of consent from father/guardian is required.
If the member is between 10 & 18 years age group.

2. Guest should be a Swimmer & Manager's decision will be final regarding entry of the guest.
(E) Student Members :
Certificate of the Principal /Dean will have to be produced by the student. Bonafide Certificate is also required.

9. It is compulsory to make entry in the swimming pool register with legible handwriting.
10. Lockers
Rs. 10/- per month or Rs. 50/- for a year extra for locker facility. Deposit of Rs. 5/- will have to be paid.
A. Member will have to bring his one lock
B. If the locker is not authority and no complaint will be enterained by the authority.
11. The officer in-charge will be competent to drive out any perspon making misuse of the property of the pool or misbehaving in the pool. Municipal Commissioner will be entitled to cancel membership of such a member. Any damage caused by a member will be recoverd from him/her.
12 Municipal Commissioner's decision will be final and binding regarding any dispute
13. swimming test for a guest is a must.
14. Swimming costumes will have to be shown at the entrance.
15. Membership of mischivous members will be canceled and no complaints will be entertained in this respect.
16. An application form should be submitted with two photographs.
17. Fees can be paid from 8-00 to 11-00 AM
18. Thursday closed. The pool will also remain closed when a competition is held by. Approved organizations.
19. Entry in the pool is subject to the concerned swimming pool only.
20. Entry Card will have to be produced before the card checker. Duplicate card will be issued on payment of Rs. 5/- with a photograph.
21. Municipal Corporation or its any officer is not responsible for loss of belongines or loss of life or any other injury either to the member or to the guests in the swimming pool

22. Fees for the Permanent staff member and their families.
Note: Family members include only members of the family who are dependent on the Municipal Employee. A Certificate of the H. O. D. will have to be produced.

The fee is for swimmers only. Learners will pay Rs. 15/- extra. A test will be conducted at the and of the month.
G. Learnes :
A person who does not know swimming or is unable to swim a fixed distance will be treated as learner. The charges for learners are as follows. Time for swimmers & learners will be different.

3. Monthly membership fee Rs. 40/-
A test will be conducted at the end of the month for the learners. If a member fails to pass, the required fees will have to be paid again.
H. Approved Organizations. The Organization is required to pay a collective fees of Rs. 351/- for their members A list of members will have to be submitted in advance.
I. Swimming Competition.
Approved organizations are required to get permission at least a week in advane swimming competition fees of Rs. 251/- will have to be deposited and the competition can be held only during the scheduled hours.

Rule - 4. Instructions.


1. A year Means 1st April to 31st March of the next year.
2. A medical certificate in the prescribed from should be signed either by a municipal doctor or any other who is at lest M. B. B. S.
3. A colourful consume is a must while swimming Ladies & other having long hair will be required to wear a cap while swimming.
4. For an entry as a swimming a person must know to swim at least 50 mtres. Test fee Rs. 10/- should be paid for it. It is compulsory to pass the said test.
5. Pre-bath is a must for every member/ guest, Oil, soap or anything greasy must not be used while swimming.
smoking in the pool is strictly pohibited and cleanliness will have to be maintained. Dogs or such other animals are not allowed in the pool.
7. Time of different batches will be decided by the Municipal Commissioner and his decision will be final & binding.
8. A Meber/guest can use the pool for an hour once in a day only. It is compulsory to leave the pool on receiving a signal.

TOURIST INFORMATION CENTRE (TOURIST DEPARTMENT)

With a view to providing information regarding Vadodara to the tourists visiting the city, a tourist information counnter at the railway Station and an information counter at Pravasi Gurh near Railway Station have been established. A tourist bus is also plied from Pravasi Gruh for local sight seeing tour. Pravasi Gurh Provides accommodation facility to the visitors given below is the information regarding local sight seeing conducted tour.

Akota Sports complex is managed by the tourist office of the Municipal Corporation Application form is available form the tourist office of Vadodara Municipal Corporation of payment of Rs. 5/- The regarding particulars are as follows. The rates of the complex are fixed by the Standing Committee of the corporation vide resolution dated 4-3-94 & General Board resolution No. 359 dated 19-2-98.

General Terms & Conditions and rules of Akota Sports complex
(General Board Resolution No. 527/Date : 3-2-1986)



The Arrangements for the following games are available at the Akota sports complex of Vadodara Municipal Corporation Situated at Akota under T. P. Scheme No. 1.

1. Football 2. Tennis 3. Skating

Training is also imparted for the above games. Any person or organization can use the sports complex on acquiring permission. The following terms & Conditions/ rules will be applicable to the users.

1. An application is required to be made in the prescribed from. Incomplete application will be rejected.

2. The said application form can be had from the office of the sports complex between 3.00 & 6.00 PM on working days.

3. The said complex will be solely used for the sports only.

4. Application should be made at least 10 days in advance. If found fit, the manager or any other officer will get sanction form the head of the department. Municipal Commissioner's decision will be final and binding in case of any dispute.

5. On receiving sanction from the head of the department the applicant will be informed and necessary charges along with deposit will have to be paid to the office.

6. Sports manager will restraion the applicant to used the complex if necessary fee is not paid in time.

7. The applicant will be allowed to make used of the ground, which he has asked for Parking place, toilet blocks & dressing rooms can be used by all application but the pavilion will be used only for the game of football.

8. It is strictly prohibited to bring or to used any kind of prohibited food or beverages. Even those who are given license will also not be allowed to use them in the sports complex. Hawkers or other persons are stricly not allowed inside the sports complex to sell food or beverages.

9. Animals including pet animals will not be allowed in side the complex. If any member comes with the pet animal, His/her membership will be cancelled.

10. Law & order situation must prevail in the complex. In case of any quarrel dispute the member/organization will be held responsible for maintaining peace. Police force will be called for by the applicant, if required. Any type of damage caused to the sports complex will have to be compensated by the application at the rate decided by the Municipal Commissioner. The Municipal Commissioner is empowered to cancel membership of any member who is responsible for the same.

11. Nobody will be allowed to misbehave in the complex and if anybody is found misbehaving, He/she will be driven out of the complex.

12. Municipal Corporation will not be responsible for any injury caused to either any member or to any other person attending any programme.

13. Municipal Commissioner or any other officer of the corporation is entitled to enter in to the complex and is empowered to ask for any information and that the person who is asked to furnish the information will be liable to do so.

14. Vehicles should be strictly parked in the parking lots only. If this rule is not folloed strictly, the manager will take strict actions including cancellation of membership Municipal Corporation will not be responsible for any loss of vehicles or a part thereof.

15. The users of the complex will have to take proper care so that no damage is caused to the complex. If any damage is however caused, the user will be held responsibile and necessary amount will be

deducted from the deposit. If deposit is not sufficient to compensate the damage, additional amount will be recovered from the user.

16. The users will have to furnish details of precautions taken by them regarding safety of spectatores during the programme. Possession of the ground will be given only after such detail is furnished.

17. A separate permission is necessary from the head of the department to construct folding stadium or tent Such arrangement will have to be made by the user of the complex.

18. Amount of Electricity consumption bill will be deducted from the deposit.

19. 1. A person will have to apply in a prescribed form and pay necessary fees, deposit etc for becoming a trainee member or for becoming a member if he/she is already trained.

2. The administrative year of the complex is from 1st April to 31st March of the next year.

3. Every member is required to have a duly - signed identity card and such card such have to be shown to the officer of the corporation on demand. In case such identity card is lost or damaged, a new card will be issued on necessary payment. The card will have to be renewed on expiry.

4. Member will be allowed on the ground on the day and time fixed by the sports manager. If the ground is allotted to other party, the member will not be allowed and notice regarding this will be published on the notice board. No refund for such cancellation will be entertained.

The sports manager is entitled to change the time for training. Training will be imparted only four time in a week. In other sessions trainees will be trained by the leader appointed by the sports manager.
Training will be imparted on Sunday, Tuseday, Wednesday and Friday only.

* Gorund parking and net will be arranged for the members while remaining things will have to be brought by the members.
* Members will be provided Tennis ball/Net for Tennis.
* Members will bring their own skates.

21. License will have to be acquired from the Land & Estate office for displaying boards/hoarding etc.
22. Municipal Commissioner's permission is necessary for water/soft dring stalls. The charges will be as given below.
Rs, 5/- per sq. feet for a day or a part there of Permission for maximum 5 stalls of 5' X 6' size will be given by the corporation (conditions apply)
23. Necessary Permissions / licenses will have to be acquired from police/fire brigade/ first aid etc. by the organizers.

24. Extra conditions for sports

1. A tennis member will be allowed only as per the session fixed for him/her and he/she will have to sign the muster.
2. Permission is required for a changes in season.
3. On expiry of time the member will leave the ground.
4. Tennis shoes are must for entering in the tennis court Tennis ball and other things will be provided as per the availabity.
For Skating

Members will bring their own skates they will be allowed as per the session,

Different shows regarding the space and movement of celestrial objects are organized by the Sardar Patel Planetarium. The Planetarium uses space master projector imported from Germany. Different audio Visual programmers are shown in the sky theatre. Various cosmic events can also be visualized at the planetarium with the help of telescope on special Occasions. The Amateur Astronomers Association of Vadodara is actively engaged in various activities related to space. Various events such as workshop observation of sky at night, poster chart, photographic exhibition, essay competition, debate competition qiz, film slide show, computer show, etc. are held with the help of the association. A large section of society takes benefit of such programmes. The open space of the ground floor is given on hire basis to educational institutions on payment of Rs. 100/-

Rules /Terms & Conditions regarding the use of ground floor and children theatre of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Planetarium (Standing Committee Resolution No. 815/5-2-90.

1. Ground floor & children theatre of the planetarium can be spared for promoting activities related to science & technoloy and astronomy or any after activities as may be found suitable by the commissioner.

2. Pemission is granted only for the children theatre & ground floor and it does not include the adjacent ambince.

3. Children theatre and round floor should be used for the purpose for which it is allotted. Extra security deposit is also to be paid by the applicant.

4. Application should be made in the prescribed form only. If more then one applications are received for the same date a draw will be held and accordingly the permission will be given.

5. Charges for the children theatre and ground floor are Rs. 100/- (inclusive of mice & electricity charges) Per day.

6. Cancellation can be done at least 10 days in advance by making an application in this regard 50 % of the amount will be deducted on cancellation.

7. An amount of Rs. 500/- will have to be deposited along with the charges. Shah deposit will be refunded after the expiry of the time on weekdays. Necessary amounts if any will be deducted from the deposit.

In case of violation of any of the terms & conditions, the permission will be cancelled.

9. Property attached to the land is not transferable to that it can't be given a way to others.

10. Low & order situation must be maintained by the applicant and the programmes should be held in accordance with in the fixed norms. If it is found that Any thing which is against the term & condition or the rules of the planetarium the applicant will be forced to vacate the property and the municipal corporation will not be responsible for any damage caused to the party in question and that no refund for the same will be entertained.

11. Any person or employer authorised by the municipal commissioner will have a right to enter in to the property even during the programme hours.

12. The applicant will have to manage for the entertainment license as per the prevailing laws. The applicant organization will be wholly responsible for any situation that arises because of non-acquiring such a license.

13. The applicant will manage for police force, if required, on his own. Intimation in this regard should be given to the officer in change.

14. No furniture, curtains etc. should be brought in the premises without prior permission of the officer in charge. No. extra lights should be fixed or position of the existing lights should also not be changed. If any repair is to be carried out or any change is to be made a written application should be made to the officer in charge and he will do whatever possible. No walls should be nailed.

15. Corporation will not be responsible for loss of property hired and brought by the applicant.

16. The charges for the use of children theatre and ground floor are for a period of 8.00 AM to 8.00 PM Extra Rs. 15/- will be charged for every additional hour or a part thereof. In no case time will be extended beyond 10.00 PM.

17. Solution tape, glue, drawing pins etc. will not be allowed to be used on any part of the premises. Any damage caused will be compensated from the security deposit.

18. No help will be extended by the municipal employees except for clearing the area.

19. In case of any unforeseen event that may result in to worsening the law and order situation, the Municipal commissioner will decide whether to refund or to change the date of the theatre and such decision will be binding to the party.

20. The chages are for a day or a part therof.

21. The commissioner may decide to allot the property without charge to any of the govt. body or any other recognized apex body provided that the place is available on the the required date.

22. Generally the space is allowed for a maximum period of seven days.

23. If a party fails to arrange the exhibition on a stipulated date, the Municipal Commissioner may extened the date that falls within the next three months, This will however be allowed only once and that the party will have to deposit 50 % extra amount along with an application to this effect.

24. The space provided on hire is not Transferable. If is found that any other Organization has arranged an exhibition or that an exhibition arranged is other than what has been mentioned, the applicant will be black listed and the deposit will be forfeited The applicant will be forced to vacate the space immediately.

25. The Municipal Corporation will not be responsible for violation of Copy Right Act, if any.

26. Advertisement. Hoarding banner of 6' X 4' size will be allowed to be displayed only ten days before the date of actual use of the theatre at a fixed place only. The officer in charge is empowered to remove such banner/board etc. for same specific reasons.

27. Municipal Commissioner's decision will be final and binding in case of any dispute.

28. Municipal Corporation and Municipal School Board can use the theatre without paying any charge Such booking should however be done atleast seven days in advance. Municipal Corporation reserves the right to cancel the booking of the other party seven days before. Outstation party should however be given a ten day notice for cancellation.

29. The above rules and charges are subject to change and the Standing Committee is entitled to make any change from a suitable date and such change will be applicable to all the concrned and no complaint will be entertained in this respect in any case.

Any body intending to get information or service of the town hall will have to make an application in the prescribed form along with the amount in cash. The town hall can be used in three different shifts. The total capacity of the town hall is 1000 seats An amount of Rs. 10000/- as deposit will have to be paid before commencing the show. Rs. 200/- extra will have to be paid for every additional show as deposit.
For social, educational and political purposes. Rs. 5000/- extra as deposit will have to be paid over and above the amount of charges. Possession of the town hall will be given only after producing performance license from the commissioner of Police. Reservation of the town hall can be done from 11.00 AM to 2.00 PM on all working days in the office of the town hall.

1. First shift morning 9.00 to 12.30

2. Second shift after noon 3.00 to 6.30

3. Third shift Night 9.00 to 12.30

Possession of the town hall be given 2 hours before the actual time of the show for the purpose of primary preparation.

An extra amount of Rs. 600/- will have to be paid for every half an hour or a part therof in the third session.

Rules regarding use of the town hall. Standing Committee Resolution Nos. (1034/6-3-86, 80/17-3-86, & 822-14-2-92) Standing Committee Res. No. (22/3-4-92) executed from 1-5-92) Standing Committee Res. No. (477/19-3-97 executed from 1-4-97 Standing Committee Resolution No. 89/14-5-98).

1. Application should be made in a prescribed from at least 15 days before the date of the show. Necessary Charges are required to be paid with the application. Reservation is done on first come first serve basis. Sitting plan of the town hall is given free of charge from the town hall office. If there are more than one application for the same date, a draw will be held in presence of the applicants by the Municipal Commissioner or any officer appointed by him.

2. It is at the discretion of the Municipal Commissioner whether or not to allot the town hall. If the town hall is required for the use of any programme of Municipal Corporation or that of the Government the reservation will be cancelled without giving any reason and no compensation will be paid to the party.

3. 1. An amount of Rs. 10000/- as deposit will have to be deposited in the office over and above the charges of the town hall during the office hours on working days Rs. 200/- extra will also have to be paid for every additional programme. Deposit will be refunded after the show is over. This will however be paid during working hours on producing receipt of the deposit and proof of the show conducted such as newspaper adv., eating pass etc. If the Proof is not furnished, the deposit will not refunded and the same will be forfeited.
2. For social, educational and political purposes, extra Rs. 5000/- as deposit will have to be paid excluding the charges of the town hall.
4. Charges for the use of the town hall and amount of deposit to be paid in the town hall office only. Permission to display board or banner at fixed place will be given only after producing the receipt of reservation and deposit.
