| Cutting
/ Pruning of Trees : |

Sometime
it may become necessary to cut or prune a tree
for reasons of safety or when it obstructs proposed
construction. Permission of VMC is necessary
even if the tree is located in private premises.
How to apply :
If the tree has to be cut for
the reasons of safety, apply on a plain paper.
If it is for the purpose of construction, along
with the simple application, please furnish
a copy of the construction plan as approved
by VMC. If the tree is located in public premises,
VMC will cut or prune it at its own cost.
Process :
On receipt of your application,
an officer of VMC will visit the site to verify
the genuineness of the case. You will be informed
of the decision within 7 days from your application. |
For
the trees owned by the Corporation

| The falling of such trees will be
done by the department at his own and as well
as on application from the public for this department
have to depend on other government agencies such
as GEB, traffic branch of police department etc.
So, sometime it is not possible to cop up promptly
with the request of such applicant. Also it is
pertinent to note that due to above reasons no
chronological services assured. For falling of
such trees no deposit required to be remitted.

| Other Services : |
Pot with plant on rent is disbursed
in person whoever come to the garden nursery subjected
to the availability. The rent is Rs.2/- per pot
per day. Deposit of Rs.20/- to Rs.50/- is levied
on adhok basis and return back to the borrower
when they return the pot. |
There are in all 60
gardens in the city including the gardens at Ajwa.
- Maintenance and development of gardens
is looked after by this department.
- The dept. maintains trees on the main roads
and plants new ones. On receiving
complaints, hazardous trees are cut down.
- Different plants at concession rate of
Rs.6/- per plant is sold and earthen flowers
pots for decoration are also given on rent
@ Rs. 2/- per day.
- Municipal band plays musical tunes at the
Band Stand in Sayaji Garden on Saturdays &
Sundays
- Colorful illuminated fountains are operated
at Ajwa Garden on Saturdays, Sundays Time
in summer: 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. & winter
6:00 p.m. To 8:00 p.m.
- Three Shows of Musical Dancing Fountains
are also held at Ajwa Garden from Saturday
to Monday.
- Jogging tracks are provided in almost all
the gardens of the city.
- Some of the gardens in the city provide
4 special corners for Children where different
gadgets are provided.
- With a view to entertaining the children
below 10 years of age, a toy train and kids
cars are provided in Sayaji Garden on all
days except Thursday. Time: 2:00 p.m. to 6:30
p.m.
- A recreational corner called ‘Satkar
Vatika’ is made available to the visitors
& school children @ Rs.75/- where a small
gathering can be held & food can be cooked.
- Gardens at Ajwa-Nimeta can be made use
of for video/film shooting. The charges for
film shooting are Rs.4000/- per day &
for documentary, the charges are Rs.2000/-
per day.
- Free saplings for plantation are distributed
from Sayaji Garden nursery during monsoon.
- Green space for development is allotted
to the applicants on demand after acquiring
required permission from the municipal commissioner.
