Palace
Built in the Indo-Sarcemic style of architecture
by Maharaja SayajiRao III in 1878 AD at a cost
of about 6 million as his residence, Laxmi Vilas
Palace is the most magnificent site.
Pratap
Vilas Palace
Designed by Mr. Stevens in renaissance
architecture, it houses the Railway Staff College
which is the main Training centre of the Indian
Railways.
Makarpura
Palace
This lovely palace was built by Maharaja KhandeRao
(1856-1870 A.D.).In 1890 a new wing was designed
by Mr. Chisholm in the contemporary European style.
The palace is surrounded by an excellent garden
and a summer house.

Baug Palace
It is the oldest palace built in old classic style
by Malhar Rao Gaekwad in the 19th century.

Located in the compound of Laxmi Vilas Palace,
it houses a fabulous colledtion of Art objects,
Painting, Sculptures etc. originally gathered
by late Maharaja SayajiRoa III & also original
paintings of India’s celebraied artist late
Shri Raja Ravi Varma.
